Prolistem – New Azoospermia Treatment
Prolistem has developed a new product called SpermSure.
SpermSure is a semen collection kit that allows patients to collect samples at home using specialized membranes developed by the Prolistem team.
The collection process is performed over 12 weeks. The primary goal is to send these membranes to our laboratory for analysis of the patient’s sperm production cycle. For example, in patients with azoospermia, studies suggest that up to ~10% may have detectable sperm if testing is done at the right timing.
In addition, the membrane-based method increases the likelihood of detecting even very small numbers of sperm. Traditional laboratory methods, such as centrifugation, can sometimes result in the loss of rare sperm cells—especially when their concentration is extremely low—while the membrane approach helps capture and preserve them more effectively.
